WBCSD President Highlights China's Sustainability Leadership

Peter Bakker, President and CEO of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, told Xinhua at the World Economic Forum in Davos that China has become an essential actor in the global sustainability transition and will play a central role in the next phase of development. He identified three converging risks—physical climate impacts, geopolitical fragmentation, and rapid AI-driven technological change—and urged aligning capital, policy and business to accelerate low-carbon, nature-positive, and circular transitions.
