UPSC Introduces Mandatory Face Authentication For Exams

The Union Public Service Commission announced on Jan. 11, 2026 that facial authentication will be mandatory for all candidates at UPSC recruitment examination centres. The AI-based system, piloted during the NDA/NA II and CDS II examinations held Sept. 14, 2025 in Gurugram, reportedly reduces verification time to about 8–10 seconds and aims to prevent impersonation.
