Trump Endorses Takaichi Ahead Of Snap Election

U.S. President Donald Trump on Feb. 6 gave a "complete and total" endorsement to Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi ahead of the Feb. 8 snap lower-house election and invited her to the White House on March 19. The endorsement follows an October meeting where they agreed on trade and rare-earth cooperation. Polls show Takaichi's Liberal Democratic Party could win an outright majority, strengthening her economic and security agenda.
