Synthesia Builds AI Avatar Lawyer For Negotiations
Synthesia's general counsel Gabe Stern recently built a virtual legal avatar, Willow, using the company's low-code platform and a custom version of OpenAI's ChatGPT to handle early contract negotiations and routine legal queries. The prototype took about two weeks to create and draws from internal policies, template contracts, and public materials; Synthesia was valued at $4 billion in January. The avatar aims to reduce scheduling and repetitive tasks before a human lawyer intervenes.
Scoring Rationale
Official company deployment demonstrates practical LLM use in legal workflows; limited technical novelty and applicability remains mainly to in-house legal teams.
