SpaceX Plans Orbital Data Center Constellation
SpaceX announced plans to launch a constellation of one million satellites to operate as orbital data centers, CEO Elon Musk said this month. The company says each satellite would deliver about 100 kW per ton and could add roughly 100 gigawatts of AI compute annually, and SpaceX is already hiring engineering roles to develop the program. Musk predicts space will be economically compelling for AI within 30–36 months.
