South Korea Plans Front Loaded Public Spending

South Korea's Ministry of Planning and Budget said on Jan. 13, 2026 it will execute 393.8 trillion won (US$267.2 billion) in the public sector in the first half to support economic recovery, up 3.5 trillion won from the same period last year. The ministry said over 70% of 34.5 trillion won for key projects, including AI and aid for small businesses and low-income households, is slated for H1 execution.
