Roku CEO Predicts AI-Generated Hit Movie

Roku founder and CEO Anthony Wood told Variety at the CES Entertainment Summit Wednesday that generative AI will lower content costs and he predicts the first 100% AI-generated 'hit movie' will debut within three years. Wood said Roku reaches more than 50% of broadband households, processes roughly 40% of streaming flows, reported over $4 billion revenue in 2025, and is adopting generative AI across operations and products while expanding via acquisitions Howdy and Frndly TV.
