Philippines Blocks Elon Musk's Grok Chatbot

Philippine authorities announced on Jan. 15, 2026 they will block access to Elon Musk's Grok chatbot nationwide by the end of the day, joining Indonesia and Malaysia in similar bans. The move follows reports that Grok's 'Spicy Mode' generated sexualized deepfakes, including images of women and children, and comes as X implements geoblocking measures while California's attorney general opens an investigation.
