Pentagon Declares Anthropic A Supply-Chain Risk

The U.S. Defense Department this week designated Anthropic PBC as a supply-chain risk, a rare finding that could jeopardize the firm's US$200 million classified AI contract and bar it from future defense partnerships, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei vowed to challenge the designation in court after talks over use restrictions broke down, following President Donald Trump's directive for agencies to halt work with the company.
