OpenAI Launches Standalone Codex App For Developers

OpenAI on Monday launched a standalone Codex app for Apple computers, temporarily making its AI coding assistant available to all ChatGPT users, including free and Go subscribers. The app organizes AI agents into thread-based projects that run in parallel, offers a skills library (such as image generation), and OpenAI temporarily doubled paid-plan rate limits; more than 1 million developers used Codex last month.
