NPCI Records 21.7 Billion UPI Transactions in January

NPCI reported an all-time high of 21.7 billion UPI transactions worth ₹28.33 lakh crore in January, with BHIM processing 17.2 crore transactions valued at ₹22,025.9 crore. PhonePe led with 991.3 crore transactions and a 46.6% market share while Google Pay and Paytm recorded 722.9 crore and 165.9 crore transactions respectively. NPCI also highlighted cross-border QR partnerships and AI pilots for UPI expansion.
