Los Alamos Installs ChatGPT On Supercomputers

Los Alamos National Laboratory this week confirmed a partnership with OpenAI to run the ChatGPT large language model on Venado, one of its supercomputers, and in August placed the system on a classified network giving it access to sensitive weapons-related data. The Department of Energy also launched a $320 million Genesis Mission to scale AI across the national labs, accelerating scientific workflows and simulations.
