Lego Unveils Smart Brick For Interactive Sets

The Lego Group unveiled the Smart Play system — including a 2×4 Smart Brick, smart tags and interactive minifigures — at CES 2026, and will begin selling Star Wars Smart Play sets starting March 1, 2026 with pre-orders from January 9. The bricks contain sensors, NFC, wireless charging and a microphone used as a virtual button, provide real-time position awareness and sound effects, and contain no AI or camera.
