Lanarkshire Hosts AI Growth Zone Driving Jobs And Investment

The UK government and partners named Lanarkshire, Scotland, for a new AI Growth Zone around DataVita’s Airdrie data centre, with CoreWeave partnership expected to support more than 3,400 jobs and attract £8.2 billion in private investment. Plans include about 800 higher-paid AI roles, 50 apprenticeships, a £543 million community fund over 15 years, and up to 500 megawatts of on-site power to integrate renewables.
