Kyverno Achieves CNCF Graduation, Expands Policy-As-Code Adoption

The Cloud Native Computing Foundation announced at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2026 that Kyverno, a Kubernetes-native policy engine contributed by Nirmata in 2020, has graduated to the CNCF’s highest maturity level after demonstrating widespread production adoption and community growth. The project exceeds 9,000 GitHub stars, is used by firms including Bloomberg, Coinbase and LinkedIn, adopted Common Expression Language, passed a third-party security audit, and plans AI and Model Context Protocol gateway support.
