Judge Blocks Pentagon Declaring Anthropic Security Risk

US District Judge Rita Lin on Thursday granted Anthropic a preliminary injunction temporarily blocking the Pentagon's 'Presidential Directive' and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's supply-chain designation that would have effectively blacklisted the AI company. The ruling lets Anthropic, led by CEO Dario Amodei, continue working with federal and defense contractors while litigation proceeds and follows the Pentagon's separate deal with OpenAI. It is not immediately clear whether the Justice Department will appeal.
