John Martinis Highlights Qolab Million-Qubit Roadmap

At the 2026 APS March Meeting, 2025 Nobel Prize winner John Martinis discussed Qolab's vision to reach a million physical qubits by using wafer-scale semiconductor manufacturing and automated packaging. He highlighted systems-engineering improvements—moving from coaxial cables to integrated flex circuits—to reduce wiring complexity and cost. Martinis also advised preparing for cryptographically relevant quantum computers within five to ten years by adopting quantum-resistant protocols.
