IQM Acquires Quantistry Assets for Industrial Quantum Platform

IQM Quantum Computers said on July 6, 2026 that it acquired selected assets from Berlin-based Quantistry GmbH. The company release and BusinessWire version describe the assets as proprietary software applications, algorithm libraries, and intellectual property, with Quantistry's core quantum-chemistry and software engineering talent joining IQM. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Quantistry is described as a cloud-native chemical and materials simulation software provider that combines HPC, quantum-chemical algorithms, and a machine-learning framework. IQM frames the integration as an end-to-end quantum-classical application development platform for industrial sectors including automotive, aerospace, energy storage, and pharmaceuticals.

The acquisition matters if IQM can turn those pieces into a supported workflow rather than a collection of assets. Useful deliverables would include reproducible classical-to-quantum benchmarks, clear SDK boundaries, stable APIs for simulation workflows, and documentation for how ML-driven orchestration decides between classical and quantum resources.

Watch IQM's documentation, partner pilots, benchmark disclosures, and product packaging over the next few quarters. The near-term test is whether Quantistry's software lowers proof-of-concept friction for industrial users, or whether customers still have to do most of the integration work themselves.
