Instructors Integrate LLMs Into Data Science Education

Researchers conducted semi-structured interviews with 42 instructors from 33 institutions across nine countries in June–July 2025 to study LLM use in data science courses. They report 58% have introduced demonstrations, guided activities, or extensive use, while 31% do not plan to use LLMs; respondents highlight innovations like AI-aware assessments, reflective tutoring, and course-specific chatbots.
