Indian IT Sector Faces Limited AI Job Losses

Indian think tank ICRIER this week published a case study and survey of 651 IT firms finding AI is not an immediate threat to India's IT services sector. The study reports 27% of firms expect headcount shrinkage, 28% plan to hire more and 44% expect no major change, noting productivity gains and AI complementing high-skill roles. It urges increased upskilling, R&D and policy action to sustain employment.
