Indian Coast Guard Modernizes Fleet Amid ReCAAP
At ReCAAP's 20th anniversary in Singapore on March 13, Indian Coast Guard Director General S Paramesh said Asian nations are building capacity for maritime governance and updated that India is modernising the ICG fleet, with 33 ships and nine Advance Light Helicopters under construction and approvals for six more helicopters and eight Dorniers. He added assets use Artificial Intelligence, while ReCAAP reported 130 sea robberies and two piracy incidents in 2025, a 23% rise from 2024.
