India Positions Itself As Global-South AI Benchmark

Saibal Chakroborty, India Lead for Technology and Digital Advantage at Boston Consulting Group, said at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi that India is poised to become the AI benchmark for the Global South. He cited India’s leadership in digital infrastructure, AI adoption and scalable innovation, and argued the country can build capabilities, talent ecosystems and responsible frameworks to help emerging economies adopt inclusive artificial intelligence.
