India Outlines AI Strategy And Job Plan

MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan told The Hindu ahead of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 on Feb. 13, 2026, that India will pursue a national AI strategy covering jobs, electronics manufacturing, and new rules on AI-generated content. He said AI could create more jobs than it displaces, outlined plans to boost domestic semiconductor and electronics production, and previewed practical regulatory measures for provenance and platform accountability.
