India Launches Micron Semiconductor Assembly Plant

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Micron Technology recently inaugurated a semiconductor assembly, testing, marking and packaging plant in Sanand, Gujarat, marking India's entry into a segment of the global chip supply chain. The facility, focused on mature-node components that represent about 90% of global chip use, aims to boost domestic production, supply-chain resilience, and local ecosystem development including suppliers, jobs, and skills.
