Illumina Partners With PREMIA To Expand CGP

Illumina Taiwan and Precision Medicine Asia (PREMIA) announced on Jan. 8, 2026 a strategic partnership to expand comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) access across the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (CGMH) system. The agreement aims to build an Asia-wide clinical-genomic oncology database, leveraging CGMH’s scale—serving about 2.7 million patients and running over 300 industry-sponsored trials—to support precision oncology and translational research. CGP was added to Taiwan’s NHI in May 2024.
Key Points
- 1Announces partnership to deploy comprehensive genomic profiling across Chang Gung Memorial Hospital serving about 2.7 million patients.
- 2Provides scalable clinical-genomic data collection to support an Asia-wide oncology database and translational research.
- 3Enables clinicians to integrate genomic insights into routine care and accelerate precision treatment decisions.
Scoring Rationale
Official Illumina–PREMIA partnership and regional scale drive impact; limited technical novelty constrains transformational reach overall.
