IIT Ropar Establishes CPS Lab At VVCE

Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), Mysuru and IIT Ropar signed an MoU on February 24, 2026 to create an Agriculture and Water Technology Development Hub (AWaDH) Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) Laboratory at VVCE, funded at ₹25 lakh under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS). The lab, IIT Ropar's first collaboration in Karnataka, will sit in VVCE's Civil Engineering department and support IoT, AI, robotics, data analytics, sponsored research, and start-up incubation coordinated by Dr. Shilpa B. S.
Key Points
- 1Establishes AWaDH CPS Lab at VVCE with ₹25 lakh funding under NM-ICPS
- 2Expands IIT Ropar's national outreach as its first Karnataka collaboration, enabling regional research capacity
- 3Enables hands-on civil engineering research, sponsored projects, consultancy activities, and start-up incubation at VVCE
Scoring Rationale
Official institutional partnership increases regional research capacity, but offers limited immediate technical innovation or broad industry impact.
