IIT Madras Launches Theoretical Computer Science Centre

IIT Madras inaugurated the Arvind Raghunathan Centre for Theoretical Computer Science (ARtCS) on March 28, 2026, funded by alumnus Arvind Raghunathan. The centre will advance mathematical foundations—cryptography, complexity, algorithms, theoretical ML, quantum computing, and AI privacy—and train students at bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and postdoctoral levels. An advisory board including Shafi Goldwasser and Prabhakar Raghavan will guide research.
