Hospitality Sector Urges Non-Legislative EU AI Approach

HOTREC and a coalition of employers and business organisations recently urged the European Parliament to remove the legislative annex from its report on Digitalisation, Artificial Intelligence, and Algorithmic Management in the Workplace. They argue existing EU rules — including the AI Act, GDPR, and labor law — already govern workplace AI and that new legislation would increase compliance burdens for SMEs. The group calls for guidance, enforcement, and social dialogue instead of new laws.
