HD Hyundai Pursues Canada Submarine Construction Contract

HD Hyundai is intensifying efforts to win Canada’s new submarine construction project after Seoul was shortlisted alongside Germany, industry sources said in 2024. The company and consortium partner Hanwha Ocean have proposed industrial and technological benefit packages worth trillions of won, offering tech transfer, depot-level maintenance training, joint R&D with Canadian universities, and petroleum import commitments to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
