Hard Drive Makers Sell Out 2026 Capacity

Seagate and Western Digital said during recent earnings calls that they have sold through their hard-drive production for calendar 2026, with firm orders and long-term agreements extending into 2027 and 2028. The shortage, driven by hyperscalers' AI and cloud-storage demand and reinforced by DRAM and NAND tightness, is raising enterprise storage costs and constraining mid-size server refresh plans.
