Guyana Government Advances Nationwide Digital Transformation

Guyana's Prime Minister Mark Phillips on Jan. 30, 2026 urged nationwide digital transformation at the GMSA Tech Conference, outlining plans to expand high-speed internet to 253 remote communities, digitize licensing and payments, and pursue ICT reforms. He cited achievements including Guyana’s first Internet Exchange Point, a 100-megawatt AI data-centre MoU, ICT Master Plan 2030, and training programs (2,000 One Guyana participants, thousands of GOAL scholarships), stressing cybersecurity and private-sector adoption.
