Grab Acquires Infermove To Expand Delivery Robotics

Grab Holdings has acquired Beijing-based start-up Infermove, the Singapore company said to Bloomberg on Friday, in a move to deploy AI-enabled robotics for food delivery. Infermove, founded in 2021 by Aaron (Yingxiang) Lu and Yuhan Long, develops mixed-road autonomous driving systems and hardware delivery robots; it had raised about US$300,000 and was valued at US$33 million in a 2024 agreement. The deal aims to boost Grab’s first- and last-mile delivery capabilities.
Key Points
- 1Acquires Infermove, Beijing startup founded 2021 that builds mixed-road autonomous driving and delivery robots
- 2Enhances Grab's first- and last-mile delivery capabilities with AI-enabled robotics and hardware products
- 3Enables scaling of automated deliveries and potential cost reductions for urban logistics operations
Scoring Rationale
Notable strategic acquisition with confirmed sources, but limited novelty given small startup scale and narrow operational scope.
