Gaeseong Firms Urge Access to Kaesong Assets

An association of 80 representatives from 38 South Korean firms on Tuesday urged the government to allow business owners to visit the shuttered Kaesong Industrial Complex to inspect assets. The complex, closed since Feb. 10, 2016, once employed about 55,000 North Korean workers and housed 120 South Korean firms. The group also called on the U.S. to grant sanctions exceptions and requested Pyongyang's cooperation.
