Ford Uses F1 Engine Work To Improve Software
Ford CEO Jim Farley said designing the Formula 1 engine for Oracle Red Bull Racing's 2026 car has taught Ford to prioritize software, in a Bloomberg interview published Sunday. He highlighted hybrid control software, predictive-failure systems and LLM-informed diagnostics as transferable capabilities for production vehicles, including the Transit van and benefits for driver Max Verstappen. Ford will supply engines starting in 2026.
