Filmmakers Embrace AI For Previsualization And Ownership

Actor-producer Rana Daggubati said on Monday at the AI Impact Summit that AI now enables filmmakers to previsualize near-final movies before shooting begins, cutting VFX shot times from days to hours. He warned the industry will split between creators who build IP on AI tools and those who merely use them, while stressing storytelling and cultural literacy remain essential. An Adobe-Nasscom MoU on Future Skills Prime was also signed.
Key Points
- 1Demonstrates AI enables near-complete previsualization, reducing VFX shot times from days to hours
- 2Highlights ownership shift as creators build IP on AI tools, decentralizing studio-controlled universes
- 3Advises practitioners to retain storytelling, cultural literacy and emotional intelligence despite AI tooling
Scoring Rationale
Industry-relevant, credible summit statements and Adobe-Nasscom MoU underpin the score; limited technical novelty and shallow coverage constrain impact.
