DRAM Shortage Threatens Global Electronics Supply

In a recent interview with The Verge, Phison CEO Khein Seng Pua warned in 2025 that an acute DRAM shortage is emerging as major manufacturers reallocate capacity toward high-bandwidth memory (HBM) for AI accelerators. The shift by Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron has tightened supply and pushed prices up, threatening product launches, squeezing smaller OEMs and SSD makers, and potentially prompting market consolidation.
