China Elevates New Quality Productive Forces

At Beijing's annual 'two sessions' this week, President Xi Jinping reiterated the concept of 'new quality productive forces,' calling for sci-tech and industrial innovation to foster emerging industries and upgrade traditional sectors. The government highlighted AI as a leading force, noting over 6,200 AI firms and a core AI industry worth more than 1.2 trillion yuan by end-2025, and submitted the draft 15th Five-Year Plan to accelerate strategic emerging and future industries.
