ByteDance Expands AI Portfolio With Doubao Chatbot

ByteDance is positioning itself as a major AI player, driven by its Doubao chatbot which has amassed more than 100 million daily users since 2023 and processes over 50 trillion tokens daily. The company is also rolling out the Seedance 2.0 video generator, plans billions in AI chip and infrastructure spending by 2026, and faces regulatory and geopolitical hurdles in overseas markets.
