Brussels Grants Humanitarian Exemption To Baud

Brussels has granted a humanitarian exemption to Jacques Baud, a former Swiss intelligence officer sanctioned by the EU on Dec. 15, 2025, for promoting pro‑Russian disinformation, the 9 Feb. 2026 report says. The exemption allows Baud to access his bank account for essential needs despite asset freezes; the European Commission says his statements undermine Ukraine's security while he appeals the charges.
