British Public Feels Less Safe, Supports Drone Modernisation

An Adam Smith Insights poll shared with the UK Defence Journal, conducted 3–5 November 2025, finds 52% of 2,052 adults in Great Britain feel less safe than in 2021 amid the war in Ukraine and Middle East tensions. The survey reports about two-thirds feel more anxious, 79% back equipping troops with the latest drone technologies, and roughly two-thirds support AI and autonomous defence investment (±2.2%).
