British Antarctic Survey Deploys Iceberg-Tracking AI

British Antarctic Survey said Thursday it developed a world-first AI system that identifies, names and tracks individual icebergs from calving using satellite imagery. Tested over Greenland, the system links smaller fragments to parent icebergs to build family trees, providing detailed melt-location data that improves climate and ocean current predictions and could aid polar navigation and research.
