Banco Santander Uses AI To Boost Profit

Banco Santander on Feb. 25 unveiled a 2026–2028 strategic plan at Investor Day in London that leverages AI and its ONE Transformation to target over €20 billion profit by 2028, up from €14.1 billion in 2025, and to grow customers to more than 210 million from 180 million. The bank said data and AI investments will deliver over €1 billion annually in combined cost savings and revenues and supports its $12.2 billion Webster Bank acquisition.
