Asian Industries Face Naphtha Supply Disruptions

Asian petrochemical and shipping firms warned in March that the US-Iran war is disrupting crude and naphtha shipments through the Strait of Hormuz. Major firms including Formosa Petrochemical declared force majeure and said alkenes production will run at minimum capacity, prompting producers and chip suppliers to prepare for shortages in plastics and electronics materials if blockades persist.
