Amazon Closes Most Homegrown Physical Stores

Amazon is closing its remaining homegrown physical stores, including 57 Amazon Fresh grocery outposts and 15 Amazon Go locations, the company said in an internal memo. The company is licensing its "Just Walk Out" technology to more than 360 venues while expanding delivery—same-day service in 2,300+ U.S. cities and tests of 30-minute "Amazon Now" mini-hubs—shifting focus from storefronts to fulfillment.
