Sam Jenkins, CEO of Punchcard Systems, told BetaKit that Meta’s lobbyists filed in early February to discuss Alberta's AI infrastructure policy, signalling hyperscale interest as the province seeks up to $100 billion in private data-centre investment. The push risks building infrastructure without retaining local economic value.
