Multiple AI-generated photos falsely depicting New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani as a child and filmmaker Mira Nair with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell were shared widely on social media Monday. Google’s Gemini detected SynthID watermarks on the images, which originated from a parody X account after the Justice Department released new Epstein files. The images misrepresent ages and spurred related false claims online.
