Yarra Valley Water Deploys AI For Predictive Maintenance

Yarra Valley Water plans a proof-of-concept using generative AI to predict failures across its water supply infrastructure, and said the system could be operational as soon as next year, according to cloud and devops lead Murali Manohar Shunmugaraja. The LLM-based inference engine will analyse sensor data from millions of assets across about 2 million premises to reduce maintenance costs, while the authority weighs on-premises versus private-cloud hosting for security and compliance.
