Workday announced that cofounder and executive chair Aneel Bhusri will return as CEO, replacing Carl Eschenbach, who will become a strategic advisor. The move follows recent layoffs of about 400 employees (roughly 2% of staff) and comes amid a roughly 6% one-day share drop and a 43% year decline. Company officials said the change will help prioritize AI and strategic areas.
