Wikimedia Launches Microtask Generator For Editors

The Wikimedia Foundation and Outreachy intern Mercy Oyelakin released the Microtask Generator, a tool that converts lists or categories of Wikipedia articles (up to 1,000 entries) into prioritized editing tasks. It integrates LiftWing machine‑learning models and MediaWiki APIs to detect quality gaps, topical and country relevance, and supports filtering, sorting, exporting, and mobile use. Organizers can use it to run focused edit‑a‑thons and onboard new contributors.
