In February 2026, researchers introduced WAKESET, a large-scale CFD dataset of highly turbulent flows capturing hydrodynamics during underwater recovery of an autonomous underwater vehicle by a larger uncrewed vehicle. It contains 1,091 high-fidelity RANS simulations (augmented to 4,364 instances), spans speeds up to Reynolds numbers of 1.09×10^8 and varied turning angles, and aims to support ML for flow prediction and surrogate modeling.
